Clinical Rotation at Complutense Medical School (CMS) 2025 – 26
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Eligibility
To be eligible for the exchange program applicants should meet the following criteria:
- Enrolled in 3rd or 4th year of medical school
- In good academic standing
- B1 level of Spanish is required. HMS strongly encourages to have an intermediate level of Spanish to successfully participate in this elective.
Description of the clinical care experience - what does a typical day consist of?
- Morning rounds, 8:30-14:30, Mon-Fri
- Possibility of being on call
- Morning basic/clinical sessions, research meetings, and teaching seminars
- English speaking tutors for students who are not fluent in Spanish; medical students may assist in translating patient interactions
- Short term stays in translational research laboratories (Pharmacology, Immunology, Biochemistry, Microbiology), may be available
- Most of the rotations (though not all of them) are offered in all three affiliated hospitals and, thus, three slots per rotation are available. PLEASE NOTE THAT WE WILL MAKE EVERY EFFORT TO MEET YOUR REQUEST, BUT THE FINAL ALLOCATION WILL DEPEND ON HOSPITAL/ELECTIVE AVAILABILITY.
